He was named Freedom Conference Coach of the Year in his second season. A strong recruiting class and increased production from veterans in new roles helped his 2010 squad to win a school record 21 games. One year after going win-less in the Freedom Conference, the Eagles won at least a game in every league series and were in the playoff hunt until the final weekend of the year
Midkiff's team posted a 13-4 mark at home, and the Eagles won several games in thier final at bat. Two of his players, Dan Garcia and Scott Renauro, earned All-Freedom recognition in 2010.
Midkiff played his collegiate baseball at the University of South Florida and Wilkes University. After graduating from Wilkes, he earned a MBA and began his coaching career at Wilkes.
As a pitcher and infielder, Midkiff is an outstanding teacher of the game. He and his staff have helped to develop the talent on the roster, and they have shown the ability to recruit effictively in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
