Jeremy Sheetinger
Jermey Sheetinger joins the Pride of the Diamond staff as Director of Indiana Operations. Sheetinger joined the Saint Joseph's College baseball program as an Assistant Baseball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator in July of 2010. He will be entering his 2nd season at SJC with his primary responsibilities being running the offense, hitting, infielders and team defense.
Sheetinger spent the last three years as the Director of Operations and Camp Coordinator for the University of Kentucky. Sheetinger handled a myriad of responsibilities for the program, including coordinating and the organization of UK's year-round baseball camps, serving as bullpen coach during games, assisting the coaching staff during practices and playing a vital role in the day-to-day administrative duties of the UK Baseball office. During his time at Kentucky, Sheetinger worked with 19 players who went on to play professional baseball.
No stranger to the GLVA, Sheetinger was a three-year letter winner at Kentucky Wesleyan College, Sheetinger graduated in 2004 after a career as a corner infielder and designated hitter. While at KWC, Sheetinger was an Academic All-Conference selection, a member of the Dean's List, as was named Captain his senior season. His career was hampered by shoulder injuries that required surgery and limited his production.
Sheetinger began his coaching career in 2005 at Georgetown College, specifically working with the outfielders and hitters. After his time with the Tigers, Sheetinger then moved to Brescia University for the 2007 season, where he served as the Recruiting Coordinator, as well as handling the hitters and defense. During his year as the hitting coach for the Bearcats, Sheetinger's team raised its batting average almost 50 points, setting a then school record with a .325 team batting average. While at Brescia, Sheetinger helped five position playes earn All-Conference recognition and helped the Bearcats return to the NAIA Regional Tournament.
During the summer of 2006, Sheeting served as the Associate Head Coach for the Owensboro Oilers of the KIT League. In its inaugural season, the Oilers posted a 31-16 record, winning the KIT League Championship. Sheetinger served as the pitching coach of the Oilers and had a tremendous impact on the team, as the pitching staff set the league record for ERA.
A veteran of camps throughout the nation, Sheetinger is a sought after instructor that has either worked or directed camps in 25 of the 50 states. In addition to running his own camp - The Capital City Baseball Experience in his home town of Frankfort, KY. Sheetinger has also gained experience doing extensive work thoughout the years as a lead instructor with DeMarini Top 96.
